Intuitive Sculptures


    By hybridizing furniture and architecture, Affordance aims to draw new connections between its urban setting and human interactions. Its forms suggest certain types of direct engagement while affording inventive ways to play within the installations. They also serve to recontextualize its souroundings to frame spatial moments, like monuments, and re-examine the city. Placed discreetly throughout Washington DC’s landscape, these sculptures offer a fresh perspective on the city’s iconic yet debated monuments. Utilizing 3D-printed concrete technology, the project adapts to site contours, featuring modular design for versatile seating arrangements, and lateral expansions.
